On a compressed timeline, Deloitte challenged us to quickly develop a concept for a white-label banking product. I worked with my tiger team to deliver a world-class banking experience concept which is still in use today.

Problem

My team and I were experienced in delivering fintech products, and we joined forces with Deloitte to redesign their new white label banking experience. It needed to be generic yet versatile, with compelling graphics to promote the product to potential clients.

Approach

I worked with leadership to determine where this product needed to differ from existing banking products, and where we could reuse ideas and flows from recent projects that had already been through legal/compliance review.

The UI lead and I developed a system to move both the UX and UI forward, concurrently.

I quickly evaluated the existing Deloitte assets against recent UX flows I had designed, identified holes, and tagged existing features for replacement or reskinning. I set up a new file structure and delegated the work.

Process

  1. Research: We had plenty of competitive analysis work from previous banking projects, but we did another round of competitor research to acquaint new team members with the landscape, and keep our inspiration board fresh.

  2. Evaluation: I built a lo-fi diagram of the proposed website, connecting existing assets to each feature, to identify opportunities for redesign, reskinning or new features.

  3. Structure: I organized a new file structure to divide, delegate and tackle the UX work.

  4. UX Design: My team and I designed new medium-fidelity wireframes, in collaboration with the lead UI designer, in Figma. We presented to stakeholders at regular intervals through this process.

  5. Hi-Fi Prototype: Finally, we developed the refined wireframes into high-fidelity mock-ups. We built both mobile and desktop web versions.

  6. Presentation and handoff: We presented a final prototype to senior leadership, and handed off our files to internal Deloitte teams as planned.

Result

We presented a final prototype to senior leadership, which encompassed onboarding, dashboard and checking flows. Our new concept was approved by senior management and green-lit for development. As planned, our tiger team wound down to pass the work back to internal Deloitte teams. The product has since been launched and is still in use today.
